What you believe …

Our chosen belief system has a HUGE impact on our lives – but then, you knew that. Well, I just want to share with you an experience that began one hour ago. The story? I was doing my husband a favor – a ten minute favor – before getting into this day which has clients and stuff to do! We were delayed. Ten minutes became 40. I watched as my insides got triggered. My emotional being got stressed and frustrated, my heart was pounding, my head was spinning with how the inconvenience would impact my morning.

Ever happen to you? Continue reading “What you believe …”

Your Best You

Your powerful impact emerges when you allow your best, most authentic self to be expressed in ways which align with your deepest values. The world around you, the friends, colleagues, and family members with whom you interact daily, need your powerful impact, your best you to shine.

Your Best You

What is your difference?
What is yours to give?
What will encourage you to make it happen?
What is your best you?

When the power goes out

Welcome to this day … Sunday morning in Appleton, Wisconsin … where we are on the other side of a tornado. We were fortunate. Not even 1/8 mile from our home, downed trees, power lines, flying roofs… Here, only 42 hours without power.

Yet it made me think about power from many perspectives. There is the power of electricity which we depend on and perhaps only realize how much when it is absent! Cell phones, computers, refrigerators, lights, water beds, TVs, … all rely on electricity. Some folks in our neighborhood immediately turned on the backup source, the generator. For them, food didn’t spoil, technology was available, and water beds were warm!

But what about personal power, the energy that we depend on to move through the activities of our day? What happens when yours “goes out”? Do you actually let it “go out”? Today, I invite you to check in with your internal power supply. Unlike electricity, where generators can replace it for a time, your personal energy is yours to monitor, nourish, restore. When it goes out, there is no gas-operated generator to plug into.

On a scale of 1 to 10, what level is your internal power supply at?
How effective are you at this level?
What would restore it?
What will you give yourself today?

Life is a Full Body Sport

Life is a Full Body Sport. No, I didn’t say full contact sport! I DID say that to live fully is to invite the talking head to rest often and encourage the heart, gut, energy system and emotionally body into the game. The wisdom of the body, the awareness of our energy field, the knowing in our gut – each of these is a source of deep intuitive wisdom that we all too often ignore when we allow our intellect, our talking head, to run our lives.

This week, practice full body living. Pause often between tasks, before decisions, between thoughts to breathe deeply into the entire body and then listen for the wisdom:

What tension exists?
What is my gut instinct?
What do I really feel?
What is my energy level now?
What do I know?

Into Action … or not!

One intention for each coaching session is to find a place of resonance within, touch a “chord” or deep truth, discover passion or a strong desire for shift. The action steps which emerge from this place will ground and deepen this awareness – and move you forward in life. Yet, despite your strong commitment in the moment to taking action, sometimes you don’t! The beauty is: there is tremendous learning from actions completed – and not! Take a moment. Call to mind a commitment you’ve recently made to yourself where you’ve dropped the ball or you are hanging out in avoidance.

What do you notice?
What self-judgment exists?
What part of the action scares you?
What was the action in service of?
What is the deeper truth?

From this place, soak in the learning and draw closure. Let it go or consider a rewrite.

What action is called for now?
