Open

Open to what is, not to what I think should be.
Open to accept that we are different, you and me.
Open to the life we each receive from Spirit true.
Open to the miracle that God has made in you.

Open in my heart to see my talents, gifts each one.
Open in my heart to share them till the day is done.
Open in my heart to see your talents as they are.
Open in my heart to see your bright and shining star.

Open to God’s plan of Love for people everywhere.
Open to God’s plan that there is no need to compare.
Open to God’s plan that each fulfills a certain need.
Open to God’s plan that, as I do, so you I’ll feed.

Open to believe that we are each part of the whole.
Open to believe that we’re created of One soul.
Open to believe that we all share One sacred birth.
Open to believe that we, as One, now walk the Earth.

I Check My Ego At The Door

As I waken from my sleep this day,
to serve You, God, once more,
I place the outcome in Your hands.
I check my ego at the door.

I go about my daily tasks,
No person I implore
To live their life my way. No,
I check my ego at the door.

I’ve learned that God’s rich plan has room
for each of us to soar!
I know not, friend, what’s best for you.
I check my ego at the door.

I listen as you share the dreams
you know God has in store.
And I support you on your way.
I check my ego at the door.

For me, I choose the path of Truth:
I listen yet once more
that guided all my steps will be.
I check my ego at the door.

God’s Garden

God planted a rich garden so many years ago,
Mother Earth its name, and blooms forever grow.
Various and beautiful, colorful and strong
are the fruits of God’s great garden where you and I belong.

Planted in the soil of God’s Love and Wisdom pure,
Nurtured by the Word until ready we emerge.
Guided, too, by other plants which blossom at our side.
Our lives take shape, our gifts expand and we now share in stride.

Side by side another plant, whose thorns may cause us pain.
Yet co-exist we must; for our soil is the same.
Tolerate, experience the pain to grow yet more.
Miracle of life, soon the thorn his blossom shores.

Connected all as one in this garden on the Earth,
Sharing all one soil, water, sunlight: all one birth.
The seed of God’s sweet Love was planted deep within us all.
Be blessed, my friend, and may your life be rich: grow strong and tall.

Common Dough

As humans we create our lives
by blending both the truth and lies.
And from this mixture we become
unique and independent sons.

Confused and all alone we fight
to build the dream that is our life.
Perhaps what needs again be said
is that this living, tangled web

has at its core the common dough.
It doesn’t matter where we go.
The dough will ever always rise
and fortify our human lives.

Provide the strength so we endure
despite the frosted crust that lures
us ever onward, up, and out:
away from Source, and into doubt.

For here we see our separateness:
our talk, our walk, our differences.
Yet from within the union calls
inviting us to go beyond

and reconnect the human dots
before we hurt and leave to rot
another soul at depth the same
as we, ourselves. We share the name

of Truth, of Love, of inner Light
that’s ever present, ever bright.
Common dough which nurtures all
who dare respond to Spirit’s call.
