Peace For A Price

Everyone around the globe
deserves a life serene:
safe, well fed, and free to be
the love which they believe.

But all must pay a price that’s steep;
world peace will not come free.
Each of us must do our part.
Peace starts with you and me.

Payment made through war and strife
and persons killed in vain
is not the price I’m thinking of.
For war I do disdain.

The price of peace requires
of each person on the earth
time devoted to the Truth
that every life has worth.

All whose human heart does beat
must dwell within to know
the peace which knows no boundaries:
knows the oneness of all souls.

Then bring each must to daily tasks
the knowledge of the heart.
Guided by Love’s vision pure:
Sweet peace to all impart.

Open

Open to what is, not to what I think should be.
Open to accept that we are different, you and me.
Open to the life we each receive from Spirit true.
Open to the miracle that God has made in you.

Open in my heart to see my talents, gifts each one.
Open in my heart to share them till the day is done.
Open in my heart to see your talents as they are.
Open in my heart to see your bright and shining star.

Open to God’s plan of Love for people everywhere.
Open to God’s plan that there is no need to compare.
Open to God’s plan that each fulfills a certain need.
Open to God’s plan that, as I do, so you I’ll feed.

Open to believe that we are each part of the whole.
Open to believe that we’re created of One soul.
Open to believe that we all share One sacred birth.
Open to believe that we, as One, now walk the Earth.

On Winds of Day

Deep inside I harbor fear:
emotions born in yesteryear.
I’ll not let go, it’s packed in tight:
pain that’s ready for a fight.

You gently ask me to begin
to crack the door and enter in.
Shed some light on ancient past.
Seen clearly it can never last.

“No, I won’t!”, my screams are loud.
I’ll not face the inner crowd.
Enemies as big as day!
I’ll not hear what they might say.

You then gently nudge again.
“What can happen, my dear friend,
if you hear the inner cry,
the life you knew in years gone by?”

“Yes, dear child, you’ve held firm
to memories both dark and grim.
You alone can break the chain:
release each thought that gives you pain.”

“I will hold your hand all night,
keep you safe till morning light,
bring sweet peace to grace the day
as you travel on your way.”

Let winds of day now freely blow
and with the wind your sorrows go.
Watch your pain now travel on;
dissipate with light of dawn.

Waken to the blessed morn.
Your sweet soul has been reborn.
“Now” the only moment yours.
On winds of day your spirit soars.

On Marriage And Love

The sacred journey of marriage begins again today
as two people who love deeply come together to say “I do”.
This wedding celebration marks the beginning of a journey of two unique individuals
who wish to experience life together through shared joy, sorrow, new life, death and
who will experience times apart and delight in sharing these with one another.

We see today two people who have discovered a deep fondness for one another,
a caring and concern that goes beyond friendship
to a devotion that each wants to spend a lifetime deepening.

When two people embark on the marital journey,
they desire for one another only the very best that life has to offer.
They willingly commit to support and to celebrate one another
through life’s successes and
through sickness, challenge and despair.

When two people express the deep commitment
to live together in the sacrament of marriage,
they ask Spirit to be the light in their darkness,
the spark of hope in their despair, the candle at their celebrations.
They acknowledge that the source of their strength
is the eternal Love of God that indwells all.

How can we know that the love we share
is sufficient for the journey?

When we see in each other the Divine Spark and
want more than anything to watch it grow,
then we have found a partner to spend our lives with.

When your happiness, fulfillment, and creativity matters to me
because it makes you happy,
then I love deeply.

When your challenges draw me closer,
that you may find in me the strength that you aren’t yet aware of in yourself,
then we love deeply.

When, despite all attempts to agree, we find ourselves with differing beliefs
yet we respect each other’s position and continue to live in harmony,
that is love.

When life has thrown us a curve, and
everything we have and do and believe in is pulled out from underneath us, and
we can hold one another, grateful for the life that we share,
then we know love sufficient for the journey.

My Soul’s Companion

Within, all awaits Her —
my soul’s companion.
In stillness, my soul rests
and Spirit calls upon me.

As glass, my soul pond
reflects Her beauty.
She sees in me purity
and we reflect clarity.

Spirit, companion of my soul,
joy of my heart,
light for my mind,
we are one.
